Feb. 14, 1944 – Dec. 25, 2010

    Lawrence R. "Larry" LaPorte of the Town of Mukwonago died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at his home at the age of 66. He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 14, 1944, the son of Harry and Lucia (nee Sturm) LaPorte.
    On May 3, 1969, Larry married Jane Dettman in Des Plaines, Ill. Larry owned and operated the LaPorte Insurance Agency in North Prairie for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Wales-Genesee Lions Club and of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Larry was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed spending time at the casino.
    He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jane; his son, Curtis A. (Lisa Nevinski) LaPorte of Pewaukee; his daughter, Jennifer (Eddie) Bauer of Milwaukee; and grandchildren, Noah, Lydia and Collin LaPorte of Pewaukee and Kyle and Gabby Bauer of Minnesota. He is further survived by his sister, Judith (George McCormick) Grantham of Liverpool, N.Y.; his two dogs, Izzy and Dexter; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John LaPorte.
    The family extends a special thank you to Larry’s niece, Erica Johnson.
    Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Dec. 30, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. John Schreiter will preside.
