Richard
D. "Dick" Luebke, 67, of Johnson Creek, passed away Tuesday,
Dec. 28, 2010, of liver cancer at his home with his family by his side.
Dick was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Fort Atkinson, to
the late Albert and Kathryn (Wittmann) Luebke. He married Irene LaBarge on
Oct. 29, 1966, in Vesper.
Dick worked for 30 years for the Oconomowoc School
District. Prior to that, he worked at Borg Industries in Jefferson. He
also owned and operated a tavern business in Oconomowoc. Dick was a member
of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson.
Fishing was Dick’s passion in retirement. He was
also an avid hunter. He enjoyed spending time camping and fishing at his
camper at Lake Mason Campground. Dick loved to golf with his wife and son.
After golfing for only a couple of years, Dick had a hole-in-one at
Pinecrest Golf Course in Wisconsin Dells.
Dick is survived by his wife, Irene of Johnson
Creek; children, Rick (Jackie) Luebke of Fort Atkinson, Kristine (Jim)
Pfeifer of Fort Atkinson and Russell Luebke of Jefferson; grandchildren,
Ashley and Nathan Pfeifer, Kelsey Schmitz and Zachary Luebke; one sister,
Sharon Storlie of Whitewater; and one brother, Kenneth (Grace) Luebke of
Summersville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a
brother, Albert Luebke Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
today, Dec. 30, at Dunlap Memorial Home, 604 S. Main St., Fort Atkinson.
Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service
Friday, Dec. 31, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Burial will
follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran
Church or school, Rainbow Hospice or Tomorrow’s Hope.
