Wilfred G.‘Will' Slattery

Wilfred G. "Will" Slattery of Waukesha died on Dec. 29, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 66.

Will was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Bernard and Lucille Slattery. He married Lorraine (nee Page) on Jan. 20, 1968. Will was valedictorian of Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids, alumnus of the University of Denver and was an Eagle Scout. He retired as an engineer after 37 years from General Electric. He was a member of the ELFUN Club. Will was an avid woodworker, sports fan, enjoyed gardening and loved his Corvette.

Will will be dearly missed by his wife, Lorraine, of 42 years; children, Christina (Peter Hanson) Slattery of Madison and Lisa (Kevin) Makowski of Milwaukee; grandson, Rylan; brother, James (Berthe) Slattery of California; and sister, Noreen (Cam) Hubanks of Madison. He is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Will was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Ceil.

The memorial Mass for Will will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The Rev. Curt Frederick will officiate. The visitation for Will will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the 11 a.m. memorial Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Will’s name are appreciated to the American Diabetes Association-Wisconsin, 375 Bishops Way, Suite 220, Brookfield, WI 53005.
