Charlene
Curtis of Mukwonago, died on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, in South Carolina
from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on March
11, 1945, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Arwin and Ruby (Sneath) Caucutt.
Charlene was united in marriage to Jerry Curtis on Aug. 6, 1966, at St.
Paul’s Catholic Church in Genesee Depot. After receiving a bachelor’s
degree in education from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, she later
became a teacher at Rose Glen Elementary School in Waukesha for 23 years
until retiring. Charlene had a passion for genealogy and was considered
the family historian for both her and Jerry’s family. The most important
thing to her was always her family. With a love of traveling, Jerry and
Charlene renewed their wedding vows in 2004 on a beach in Hawaii.
Charlene will be deeply missed by her husband, Jerry of Mukwonago; her
two children, Tim (Eve) Curtis and Jackie (Dave Vegafria) Curtis, both
of Waukesha; two grandchildren, Jordan Freitag and Stevie Redd; her
mother, Ruby Caucutt of Genesee Depot; and her brother, Gordon Caucutt
of Waukesha. She is also survived by aunts and uncles, other relatives
and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, from 11 a.m. until the
1 p.m. funeral service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave.,
Waukesha. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
