WAUKESHA
Marian R. Kraus Dec. 8, 1926 – Feb. 3, 2010
Marian was born on Dec. 8, 1926, the daughter of Herbert and Esther (nee Doering) Flath of Watertown. She was united in marriage to Eugene Kraus, the love of her life, in 1945; they found much joy and happiness in their 64 years together. Eugene went home to be with the Lord in August and now they are both reunited in heaven. It was Marian’s deep and abiding love for her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, that overflowed to all who were blessed to know her. She loved with abandon and welcomed all who entered her home! But most of all she loved and cherished her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marian enjoyed her ministry as the organist at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for more than 40 years, where she was also a longtime member. She was active as an election poll worker for many years, enjoyed family vacations and was a skilled seamstress. Marian was the loving mother of five daughters: Kathryn (David) Halterman of Crown Point, Ind., Karen (Joseph) Kokan of Winter, Karla (Robert) Hanson of Waukesha, Kay (Marc) Bourgeois of Waukesha, and Kamille (Albert) Wilkinson of Waukesha; cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren: Beth, Jami, Sarah, Marc Jr. (Kristin), Anastasia (Gabe), Nate, Joshua, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Emma, Dominique, Jacob, Philippe and Gabriel; treasured greatgrandmother of six greatgrandchildren: Isabella, Hunter, Hailey, Lilianna, Ari and Madeline; tender sister of Ruth Flath and sister-in-law of Ruby Kraus and Yvonne Flath. Marian is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed. Marian was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Eugene, her parents, and brothers William Flath and Richard Flath. The funeral service for Marian will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Rev. Jim Holmberg will be officiating. The visitation will be from noon Monday until the time of the 2 p.m. funeral service at the church. Memorials to the family are appreciated to be donated to a charity of their choice at a later date. Marian’s family is grateful for the medical care provided by Dr. Fish and the phenomenal nursing staff of Waukesha Memorial Hospital. The Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, Cremation and Pre-Planning Services is serving the family.
