Denise Arlene Kurth



Denise Arlene Kurth passed away after a brave battle with cancer Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at West Marion Community Hospital. She was 54.
 

Denise was born in Waukesha to Arthur and Geraldine Maass. She lived in Greenfield until moving to Williston, Fla., in 1978. Denise was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked as a homemaker as well as being her husbandís right hand in the family business, Kurth Electric.

She was inducted into the Ocala Womenís Bowling Hall of Fame, she was very involved with the Marion County USBC-BA, she was a youth coach for the Ocala YABA for 12 years and she worked in many bowling tournaments in the Ocala area.

Denise is survived by her parents, Arthur and Geraldine Maass; her husband, Larry Kurth; her son, Tyson Kurth; and her sisters, Lori (Gary), Tammy (Dan), Annette (Mike) and Stephanie.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Knauff Funeral Home, 512 E. Noble Ave., Williston. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gainesville, Fla., with the Rev. Roger Rockhoff officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Ocala Oncology Center in memory of Denise Kurth, 433 SW 10th St., Ocala, FL 34471.
