Bernice E. Owen of Waukesha died peacefully with her family by her side Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the age of 83. She was born June 13, 1926, the daughter of Herman and Gertrude Karau. She married the late Luther R. Owen Sr. on July 4, 1947. Bernice loved spending time with her family.

Bernice will be sadly missed by her children, Luther "Bronc" (Robin) Owen Jr., Judy Owen, Russ (Pat) Owen, Gloria Owen, George (Cathy) Owen and Ginny (Robert) Smith; grandchildren, Ricky Villmow, Angela Summers, Laura Hanson, Sherry (John) Walsh, Sarah (Joel) Wilke, Jamie (fiance Greg) Owen, Jessica Owen and Katie (Michael) Frink; greatgrandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Ashley, Kevin, Anthony, Nathan, Thomas, Austin, Stephanie, Joann, Jacob, Zach, Hailey, Brett, Tatianna, Diamond, Lauren, Cameron, Lanie, Owen, Mackenzie, Paige and Kurtis; great-great grandchildren, Karlie, Haiden, Arianna and Xzayvor; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lorraine Sorenson; a grandson, Tony Hanson; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla Pavlons.

Visitation for Bernice will be from noon until the 1 p.m. service Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Salvation Army, 445 Madison St., Waukesha. The inurnment will take place at a later date.
