Doris L. Miller
March 8, 1937 – Feb. 14, 2010
Doris L. Miller, 73, of New London, passed away surrounded by her family Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, after a 30-year battle with cancer. Doris was born March 8, 1937, in Washburn, the daughter of the late James and Florence Kieth.
On Oct. 2, 1954, she married Richard D. Miller. Doris and Richard had three children and resided in Waukesha for most of their married life. In the 1990s they moved to New London to enjoy retired life, living on the Wolf River. During her 73 years with us, Doris acquired many interests, traveling the landscapes of Wisconsin with her husband and stopping off at various casinos along the way. Crafting was a hobby we all associated with Doris as she made many beautiful projects over the years. She also enjoyed visiting family, auctioning and several outdoor activities. Most recently, Doris had become passionate about cancer awareness and did encourage those around her to also become involved.
Doris is survived by her husband, Richard; her three children, Linda (Allen) Dowe, Michael (Rose) and Richard Jr.; grandchildren, Tracy (Timothy), Barbara, Gregory, Tina, Geoffrey, Joshua, Steven, Paul, Nicole, Allen, Amy, Diane and Karen; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass to celebrate Doris’ life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, with the Rev. David Lewis officiating.
