Kathereyn E. Howe

Kathereyn E. Howe of Brookfield passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at
Brookfield Gardens Assisted Living at the age of 98. She was born Oct. 14,
1911, in Chicago, to Louis H. and Margaret (nee Norton) Petrie.
She was raised on the south side of Chicago. On Aug. 11, 1935, she married
Fred Howe Sr. in Chicago. For 44 years, they owned Fred Howe Motors VW,
BMW & Porsche. She was an integral part of putting together the
Waukesha Bowling Association in the late 1930s and was one of the first to
be inducted into the Waukesha Bowling Association Hall of Fame.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Kay Lee (Michael) Castagna of
Brookfield; daughter-in-law, Judy Howe of Lake Geneva; and grandchildren,
Michael Castagna of Waukesha, Katie (Rich) Neumann of Delavan, Fred Howe
III of Lake Geneva and Tom (Carol) Howe of Hales Corners. She is further
survived by her greatgrandchildren, Mitchell, Amber and Emily, and other
relatives and friends. What a joy she was to us all!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 1979; son, Fred Howe,
Jr., in 1996; and her sister, Margaret Schubert.
Private family services were held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, where she
was laid to rest next to her husband.
