Dan Edward Wissner

Dan Edward Wissner, 66, of North Palm Beach, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.

Born in Pittsburgh, the family moved to Muncie, Ind., during his high school years, and in 1960 they moved to Waukesha, where he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelorís degree in history. In 1979, the family moved to North Palm Beach. He was the head of the history department at the Benjamin School, joining them in 1991. He was a petty officer with the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam.

Dan was known for the worst jokes in the world.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; a daughter, Caron Martin (husband Craig) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas; his father, Charles Wissner of Mukwonago; and a brother, Gregg Wissner of Mukwonago.
