Kenneth C. Skidmore

Kenneth C. Skidmore, age 82, of Sun City, Ariz., passed away Dec. 30, 2009 at Hospice of Arizona after a courageous battle against metastatic prostate cancer.

He was born April 25, 1927 and raised in Eagle. After serving in the U.S. Navy near the end of World War II, he returned to Eagle and learned his profession as a railroad agent for the Milwaukee Road. He retired from the railroad in Wausau in 1985 after more than 36 years of service. Ken and his wife, Ann, were then able to pursue their love of travel and adventure throughout the U.S., finally settling down in Arizona. He enjoyed all sports and meeting people. His long-term passion was the computer and genealogy.

Ken will be greatly missed by his wife, Ann; daughter, Cynthia (David) Lambrecht; and son, Jeffrey, as well as other family members and his many friends.

A funeral service for Ken will be held at 12 p.m. January 9, 2010 at Mealy’s Funeral Home, 103 W. Eagle St., Eagle with Pastor Karen Klatt officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Eagle.
