Eleanor M. Lynch-Anderson

Eleanor M. Lynch-Anderson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, age 86, of Sun Prairie, died on Jan. 6, 2010, at home surrounded by her loving family.

The former Eleanor M. McCormick was born Jan. 22, 1923 in Doylestown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kirley) McCormick. She graduated from St. Mary Springs Academy High School in Fond du Lac. She married William (Bud) Lynch on Nov. 22, 1940 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Doylestown. He preceded her in death in November of 1975. She later married Edward Anderson on March 10, 1984 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Sun Prairie and he preceded her in death in November of 1989.

She has been a longtime member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, an officer with the Business and Professional Women’s Club and enjoyed her euchre club for over 50 years. Eleanor also loved playing Bingo. She worked for 34 years at Mendota Mental Health Institute.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Bonnie) Lynch of San Jacinto, Calif. Kathleen Welling of Green Bay, William Welling of Oconto, Thomas (Marie) Lynch of Rolling Prairie, Donald (Shelly) Lynch of Pewaukee, John (Sharlene) Lynch of Saginaw, Mich.,, Lawrence Lynch of Wrightstown, Terrence (Lucy) Lynch of Birch Run, Mich., Lisa (Gerald) Gorchels of DeKalb, Ill., John (Julie) Anderson of Monona, Theresa (Bradley) Johnson of Madison and Mark (Sandy) Anderson of Fort Atkinson; her grandchildren, Shelly Lynch-Peterson, Holly Lynch, Rebecca Lynch, Andrea (Jesse) Linck, Susan Welling, Shannon (Andrew) Geier, Kate (Joseph) Catanzano, Jason (Kim) Lynch, Benjamin Lynch, Diane (Troy) Leaf, Angela (Derek) Price, Melissa Hall, William Lynch, Dakota Lynch, Tyler Harris, Timothy, Bridget and Daniel Gorchels, Scott (Kelly) Jacobsen; numerous great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Agnes McCormick and Gloria Lynch, special friend Harold Warmke and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Lynch, a daughter-in-law, Kathy Lynch, her five brothers, Hubert (Matie), Owen (Floss), Joseph (Margaret), James and William (Vera) McCormick; her three sisters, Mary A. (John) Reak, Ann Warmke and Sr. Claudine McCormick, CSA.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus St., with Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt presiding. Friends may call on Monday January 11, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St. in Sun Prairie, with rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Sun Prairie or HospiceCare at 5395 E. Cheryl Pkwy. in Madison.

Kathy Welling, her daughter and her granddaughter Shelly Peterson took excellent care of her and for that the family is grateful. The family would like to thank Dr. Nosal and all of the hospice caregivers for their compassionate care.
