Mae Rose Lass

Mae Rose Lass, a lifelong resident of Waukesha, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years.

She was born in Waukesha on Nov. 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Emil and Rose (Burrie) Marose. Mae was married to Burt Lass on Oct. 7, 1950, and the two shared almost 50 years together before Burtís passing in 2000. She was employed as a secretary for the state of Wisconsin for many years. Mae was an avid reader, organized to a "T," enjoyed yard work, crossword puzzles and playing cards with friends.

Mae will be deeply missed by her brother, Donald of Montello; her brother-in-law, Roy (Joanne) Lass of Waukesha and other family and friends.

The funeral service for Mae will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., in Waukesha. The Rev. Dan Schowalter will officiate. The visitation will be on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Private interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery.
