Christine Sue ‘Chris’ Olkowski

Christine Sue "Chris" Olkowski (nee Titulear) of Waukesha passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the age of 57 years.

Chris was born in Waukesha on Feb. 7, 1952 to June (nee Austreng) and George Titulear. She was a graduate of Waukesha High School, later joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970. On Nov. 17, 1972, she married William R. "Bill" Olkowski.

Affectionately known as "Mrs. O," Chris volunteered and worked at Heyer Elementary and was a Girl Scout troop leader there for many years. She worked at Quad/Graphics in Pewaukee for 25 years. Chris was also a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Chris loved spending time with her family, baking and making treats for her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She enjoyed vacationing and shopping with her sisters, going out dancing or listening to her husband, Bill, sing.

In addition to her husband of 37 years, Bill, she is survived by her daughters

Heather (Casey) Honeyager of Montana, Holly (Ed) O’Neill of Minnesota and Hope Olkowski (Adam Wachendorf) of Waukesha; grandchildren William and Christian Thomas and her newest little princess, Matilda Sue O’Neill; and sisters Georgia Moyle of Fond du Lac and Rae Ellen Larson of Waukesha. Chris is also loved and survived by her aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and June, her sister Frances L. Knoll (her oldest sister, who shared the same birthday as Chris), and brothers-in-law Jack Moyle and Ralph Larson.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha (at highways J and JJ, about four blocks south of Interstate 94). Private interment will be at Genesee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
