Louis V. Thuemling
Sept. 4, 1938 – Jan. 12, 2010
Louis V. "Louie" Thuemling, a longtime resident of Pewaukee and
the Waukesha area, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial
Hospital at the age of 71, surrounded by family and friends. He was born
Sept. 4, 1938, in Chicago, the son of Fred L. and Evalyne L. (Skold)
Thuemling.
As a teenager, Louie loved the rodeo, especially competing in bareback
riding and bull riding. After working for many years as manager of A.F.
Leitgabel and Son in Milwaukee, he worked for A.A. Anderson and Co. for
more than 25 years, until his retirement in June 2002. For many years, he
was an active member of the Waukesha Jaycees and the North Suburban
Exchange Club. In his retirement, Louie enjoyed relaxing in the sun,
fishing and traveling, but most of all, spending time with family and
friends.
Louie will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend for 32 years,
Kathy (Tannis) Thuemling of Pewaukee; five children, Tim (Diane) Thuemling
of Eagle, Terri Ann (Greg) Raith of Appleton, Jeff Thuemling of Waukesha,
Steve (Colleen) Thuemling of Waukesha and Tom (Teresa) Thuemling of
Madison; and seven grandchildren, Danielle (Jake) Bartkowiak, T.J.
Thuemling, Garrett (fiancee Holly) Raith, Krista Raith, Michael Raith,
Sarah Thuemling and Matthew Thuemling. He is further survived by his
brothers, Fred (Mary) Thuemling and Terry (Joanie) Thuemling, both of New
Berlin; brothers-in-law, Peter (Jane) Tannis and Ted (Pat) Tannis;
sister-in-law, Anne (Joe) Salinas; and nieces, nephews, numerous other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service
Saturday, Jan. 16, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave.,
Waukesha. Pastor Dr. Doug Schoen will preside. Entombment will follow at
St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
