Gerald A.‘Jerry’ Marth
May 14, 1939 – Jan. 17, 2010
Gerald A. "Jerry" Marth of Pewaukee passed away Sunday, Jan. 17,
2010. He was born in Milwaukee on May 14, 1939, a son of the late Carl and
Norma Marth-Moser.
Jerry was a graduate of Marquette University, earning a degree in
mechanical engineering. He was married to Jean D. (Pegler) on Sept. 10,
1966, and the two raised a son and daughter. Jerry worked many years for
A.O. Smith and retired from Tower Automotive. He was a longtime member of
Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha and was also an avid Packers fan.
Jerry was proud of the home that he and his son had built up north and
enjoyed anytime spent there. He and his wife belonged to a sheepshead card
club and Jerry also enjoyed following the stock market and gambling. His
greatest love, however, was for his grandchildren. He loved anytime spent
with them and will be sadly missed.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of more than 43 years, Jean; his
daughter, Michele (Jeff) Johnson of Waukesha; and his son, Christopher
(Linda Sobeck) Marth of Boulder, Colo. Jerry will also be remembered by
his grandchildren, Samuel, Margaret, Anne and Sacha. He also leaves a
brother, James (Joanne) Marth of Wawautosa; a stepsister, Corinne Westcott
of Pewaukee; and a sister-inlaw, Kathleen Lyles of Merton.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the 5 p.m. service Friday, Jan.
22, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St., Waukesha, WI 53188. The
Rev. Frank Janzow will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Ascension Lutheran
Church, c/o either the Good Samaritan Fund or the Ascension Sunday School,

The family wishes to thank the ICU nurses and staff at Froedtert for the
