Ann C. Stangl of Waukesha died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 94. She was born Nov. 21, 1915, in Butternut, the daughter of Joseph and Crescenta (nee Woefl) Stangl.

She proudly served her country in the Women’s Army Corps. Ann lived in Park Falls for many years, where she belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. After moving to Waukesha in 1969, she worked for the Godfrey Company as a private secretary assisting with insurance. Throughout the years that followed, she resided in both Waukesha and Butternut.

Ann will be deeply missed by her sisters, Dorothy Stangl of Chicago and Josephine Bennett of West Allis, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Karl Stangl; sisters, Forence Miller and Mary Engle; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass on Tuesday, Jan. 26, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha. Burial will take place with full military honors at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Cecelia Cemetery in Butternut.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Butternut-Park Falls.
