Calvin C. Byers


Calvin C. Byers of Pewaukee died peacefully at home in his sleep Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at the age of 85.

He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Carolyn (nee Fischer); beloved father of Charles (Nancy) Byers and Connie (Craig) Smith; proud grandpa of Benjamin Byers; and brother-in-law of Lois (William) Leissner and Ardith Fischer. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from noon until the 3 p.m. funeral service Thursday, Jan. 28, at Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Interment will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery, Pewaukee.

Calvin was a member of Galilee Lutheran Church of Pewaukee, the Telephone Pioneers and the Pewaukee American Legion Post. Calvin was a former police officer with Pewaukee and a volunteer for the Pewaukee Fire Department. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his family and his summer pastime was visiting rummage sales.
