Donald Ray Dalzell, 67, of Waukesha, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, after a two-year battle with illness.

 

Don was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Macomb, Ill. He was the beloved son of Galen and Theda Mae (nee Zimmerman) Dalzell.

 

He is an honorably discharged veteran of the Army.  After serving his country, Don started a truck driving career, which he worked in for more than 40 years. Most recently, he worked for local Waukesha companies such as Butterfield Trucking and Zignego Ready Mix.

 

Don is survived by his wife, Wendy (nee Kappel); brother, Ronald; and sisters, Judy and Mary. He was a loving father to his daughter, Kellie (Barry) Ernst, and stepson, James (J.D.) Johnson. He is further survived by his most treasured gifts, his grandsons, Dakota, Brandon, Bradley and Brady, and granddaughters, Kaitlin, Sara, Amber, Autumn and Ashley. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many dear friends.

 

Don was proceeded in by a brother-in-law, Wayne Kappel; sister-in-law, Ginger Schulz (nee Kappel); grandson, Barry Ernst Jr.; and nephew, Danny Kappel.

 

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 31, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 W. Bluemound Road, Waukesha.
