Duane F. Yuhas, 60, of Waukesha, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

 

He is survived by Anne (nee Sitter), his loving wife of 28 years. He was the dear father of Sarah, Lara, Jack (Ann) Yuhas and Skye Spence and grandpa of seven. He is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Mary Beth), Marty (Nancy) and Kevin (Rosie) Yuhas; his sisters, Carol (Jim) Munday, Cynthia (Bob) Staub, Marsha Rich and Geri Wasczak; and other relatives and friends. He was dearly loved by his four-footed canine friend, Bailey.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Lucille Yuhas; his brother, Tom; and sisters, Nancy Koloski and Beverly Friske.

 

Duane was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart. His humor throughout his illness was remarkable. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

 

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. untilt he 6 p.m. funeral service today, Jan. 29, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 1875 N. Calhoun Road, Brookfield. Following cremation, there will be a private inurnment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
