Diana G. Craft

Diana G. Craft, of Waukesha, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at the age of 66. She was born Aug. 14, 1943, in Ottawa, Ill., to Viola and Adam Dembicki.

 

She was a 1969 graduate of Northern Illinois University and taught school in Illinois. On July 25, 1970, she married James E. Craft.  Following a brief career at Envirex and rearing three children to school age, she returned to teaching in the Waukesha School District for 18 years, beginning as a reading aide at Lowell Elementary and progressing to the computer specialist at Butler Middle School, where she retired in 2006.

 

Diana is survived by her husband; her children, Adam (Jacquelynn) of Oconomowoc, Ariana of Waukesha and Jared of Waukesha; two grandchildren, Briana and Alexis; one sister, Dale Herren of Kingman, Ariz.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

 

Diana was very active in her church with several ministries, especially the Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Community of Hope, and  musical and IT support.

 

She excelled in many artistic and creative activities - painting in oils and acrylics, ceramics, knitting, sewing, quilting, jewelry, floral design, gourd art and basket weaving. She belonged to the Lake Country Basket Guild for many years. Many of her creations can be found throughout the country. She also enjoyed reading, gardening and she loved playing with her grandgirls.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church are appreciated.
