"Mike" Lucht, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, with her loving
family at her side after a brief illness.
Born in Chicago on April 30, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Walter
Clawson, a Lutheran minister, and Ruth (Paulsen) Clawson.
Phyllis grew up in Chicago, graduating high school at the age of 16. She
attended Wright Junior College and went on to graduate from Carthage
College in Carthage, Ill., Class of 1947. While she studied at Carthage,
she enjoyed performing in Little Theatre. After graduating, Phyllis taught
English for a year and subsequently worked at Rand McNally. After marrying

keepers and he was a Lutheran minister. They moved to Minneapolis and then
to Waukesha. Phyllis was widowed in 1968. She worked as a medical
transcriptionist and was employed by Waukesha Memorial Hospital for more
than 25 years.
Phyllis was a voracious and eclectic reader. She spent many enjoyable
hours at the Dracut Public Library, since moving to Lowell in 2004. She
also enjoyed traveling to New England, listening to music and solving
exceptionally challenging crossword puzzles. "Nana" was very
proud of her Scandinavian heritage and will be fondly remembered for her
love of "coffee and ...," in addition to her acerbic wit and
extensive vocabulary. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and
friends and sharing her wonderful sense of humor, wisdom and love in equal
measure.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Carla Boucher and her
husband, Richard of Lowell, Lisa Lucht of Lowell and Beth Lucht of Lowell;
