John Freudenstein of Watertown died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. He was born and raised in Genesee on Nov. 21, 1928, to Adolph and Elsie (nee Herman) Freudenstein.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked at Waukesha Engine for 47 years, retiring in 1992.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruby (nee Holmes) of Watertown; as well as his children, John W. Freudenstein of Georgetown, Ky., Kenneth (Danielle Borchardt) Freudenstein of Watertown and Roger (Joy) Freudenstein of Georgetown. He is further survived by his stepdaughter, Judy Ann Doerr of Eau Claire; brother, Harvey (Shirley) Freudenstein of Dousman; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mabel Bush and Bertha Pease; brothers, David Love and Gordon Freudenstein; as well as his parents.

Visitation will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Military honors will follow the visitation at the funeral home.
