Francis V. Richardson
March 29, 1926 – July 24, 2010
Francis V. Richardson of Waukesha died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at
LindenGrove-Waukesha at the age of 84. He was born March 29, 1926, in
Kansas, the son of Francis A. and Nora (Feaker) Richardson.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy
from 1944 to 1946. Francis was united in marriage to Dorothy Pike on July
19, 1952, in Doering. After working at many jobs over the years, he was
employed at Inland Diesel as a mechanic until retirement. In his younger
days, Francis had a pilot’s license and loved to fly. He was a member of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 721 and attended First Assembly of God
in Waukesha. He enjoyed traveling and fishing, and even built his own
boat. He especially enjoyed the camaraderie of playing cards with friends.
Francis will be deeply missed by his wife of 58
years, Dorothy of Waukesha; seven children, Glenn (Virginia) Richardson of
Waukesha, Larry (Sherry) Richardson of Indiana, Marie (Norb) Novocin of
Delaware, Dennis (Dede) Richardson of Florida, Joan (David) Whysol of
Sullivan, Christine (Randy) Malone of Pewaukee and Jeff Richardson of
Waukesha; grandchildren, Shira, Ada (Dan), Laura, Ginnie, Rachel, Arne,
David, Renee, Kristi, Andy (Sara), Judah, Casey, Ryan, Kyle, Cara and
Nathan; and great-grandchildren, Henry and Desirae.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Iva Mae
Griffiths and Hazel Pillsbury; two brothers, Arthur and Fred Richardson;
and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 3
p.m. funeral service Friday, July 30, at First Assembly of God, 1314 S.
Grand Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Verne Hagenbeck will preside. Burial will
immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery, with full
military honors presented by VFW Post 721.
