William D. ‘Bill’ Baumhover

William D. "Bill" Baumhover of Waukesha passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the age of 83. He was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on Feb. 18, 1927, to Edward and Hilda (Eckstein) Baumhover.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a pilot and rear gunner. He was employed as a project manager for Butler Bin for more than 26 years and later worked for Lippman, Inc. of Milwaukee. Bill loved golfing, listening to bands play at Cutler Park and watching slow pitch baseball at the Saratoga Complex.

Bill will be dearly missed by his daughters, Nancy (Will) Bowlin of Dade City, Fla., Barbara Jones of Waukesha, Robert (Christina) Baumhover of Mukwonago and Carol (Dave) Schroeder of North Prairie. William will also be missed by his grandchildren, David, Timothy, Adam, Rebecca, Sarah, Jessica, Doris, John, Marc, Jenny, Rachel, Ben, Katie, Nick and Tyler; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Gladys; his former wife, Joan Baumhover of Waukesha; and other relatives and friends.

William is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; sisters, Rosemary and Doris; and grandson, Peter Towner.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Thursday, July 29, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Bill’s nephew, the Rev. Charles Conley of St. Jude the Apostle, will be officiating. Burial will be private.
