Marlin W. ‘Marv’ Phaneuf
March 15, 1926 – June 1, 2010
Marlin W. "Marv" Phaneuf passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010,
under the loving care of the caring staff at AngelsGrace Hospice at the
age of 84.
Marv was born in Owen on March 15, 1926, to the late Gordon and Lila
Phaneuf. An alum of UCLA, (Upper Colby Lower Abbotsford), Marv honorably
served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He worked for
the Milwaukee Road Railroad Co. and later drove truck for West Allis Block
Co., Jaeger Sand & Gravel and Spancrete. In his retirement years, Marv
put his ability to spread smiles to good use by delivering flowers for
Olde English Flower Shoppe of Waukesha.
Marv is survived by his children, Greg (Barb) of Mukwonago, daughter-in-law
Debbie of Pewaukee, Kathy (Randy) Lijewski of Waukesha, Sue (Scott)
Skrepenski of Waukesha and Mary (Jerry) Miller, of Waukesha; his
grandchildren, Leslie (Pat), Kelly (Jay), Cindy (Steve), Michelle, Darrel,
Jennie, Ramsey, Andrew, Jordie, Tori and Kilie; his great-grandchildren,
Jack, Addison and Tricia; his sisters, Avis and Phyllis (Lester); his
sister in-law, Dolores; and many special nieces and nephews.
Marv was preceded in death by his best friend and wife of almost 60 years,
Patricia Margaret (Nee Corrigan) Phaneuf; his beloved son Michael B.
Phaneuf and his brother, Warren Phaneuf.
Marv’s family will greet relatives and friends from 11:30 a.m. until the
1:30 p.m. memorial service Friday, June 4, 2010, at Church and Chapel
Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha. In lieu of flowers, please
send donations to AngelsGrace Hospice, Highway P, Oconomowoc.
Marv was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.
Teaching us to live each moment to the fullest through his final day,
"The Legend" will forever be remembered as a loving husband,
devoted father, adored grandfather, proud uncle, true friend, master
storyteller and the life of every party!
