Max M. Heare

Feb. 13, 1924 – May 30, 2010

Max M. Heare, 86, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Meridian Care Home in Surprise, Ariz. Max was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Berne, Ind., to Charles and Carrie Heare.

He started his career as an insurance adjuster in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Minnesota, and then moved to Wisconsin, where he was the manager of GAB Insurance in Milwaukee. He then went on to work at Maier Construction in Wauwatosa as a general insurance adjuster.

Max was a member of the Elks Club and served as exalted ruler in Fort Wayne, Ind. He is a member of Lodge 400 in Waukesha.

Max married the love of his life, Vernette Jones, in November of 1976. After their retirement in 1992, they enjoyed traveling between their homes in Wisconsin, Arizona and Hawaii.

Max is survived by his wife, Vernette. They have shared their love and togetherness for almost 35 years. He is also survived by son Michael Heare of Cape Coral, Fla., and stepdaughters Ginger (Clay) Winger and Barbara (Dennis) Hare. Max is further survived by granddaughters Sami and Alex Heare and great-granddaughter Ava Heare, stepsister Marcella Schnitz, sister in-law Ardela Heare, stepsister-in-law Marleyne Tutewiler and many special nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Service to be at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, Sun City West, Ariz., (623) 584-6299, with visitation at noon Friday, June 4, 2010, with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Memorials can be made in Max’s name to the Leukemia Foundation.
