Elaine A. Nicoson of the town of Mukwonago passed away
Friday, June 4, 2010, at Birchrock Corners in Mukwonago. She was 93.
She was born Nov. 17, 1916, at the family century
farm in the town of Mukwonago, the daughter of Eugene and Catherine (Hoeft)
Burnell.
On Aug. 21, 1937, she married LeRoy Nicoson. After
their wedding, they both graduated from the Modern School of Beauty
Culture. They purchased a shop in East Troy and ran it for several years
before moving back to the Burnell family farm. They enjoyed the life of
running the farm and raising a family for 30 years, after which their son,
Larry, and his wife, Ruth Ann, took over the farm and LeRoy and Elaine
retained 3.5 acres of the farm and built a house. LeRoy retired from
Waukesha Motor Works and Elaine from GTE. They had been together for 60
years when he passed away Oct. 6, 1996.
Elaine is survived by a son, Larry (Ruth Ann) of
town of Mukwonago; and two daughters, Linda (Morris) Seifert of Freedom
and Rebecca (Jeffrey) Dickert of DePere. Elaine will also be remembered by
her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene
and Catherine Burnell; sister, Ester Burnell; husband, LeRoy Nicoson; and
daughter, Lora (Edward) Klotzbuecher of Elkhorn.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the
noon funeral service Wednesday, June 9, at the North Prairie Untied
Methodist Church, 107 N. Main St., North Prairie. There will be an Eastern
Star Service, conducted by the LaBelle Chapter No. 40 O.E.S., followed by
a funeral service with the Rev. Bonnie Bell officiating. Burial will
follow at North Prairie Cemetery.
