Dorothy M. Stark, 79, of Waukesha, formerly of Watertown, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.
Dorothy Mae Degner was born at home in Ixonia on March 18, 1931, the daughter of Rudolph A. and Selma (Kohlhoff) Degner. She married Donald F. Stark on Oct. 22, 1949, at St. Paulís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ixonia. Donald preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2005.
Dorothy had been employed for 10 years as a cook at Trinity Lutheran School in Waukesha in the hot lunch program. She had also worked for 15 years for Kohlís Distribution Center in Menomonee Falls.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Dorothy was an avid Brewers fan and always had her radio tuned to the WTKM radio station in Hartford.
Survivors include her children, Richard Stark of Johnson Creek, John (Christine) Stark of Waukesha, and Paul and Conny Stark of Upper Marlboro, Md.; her four grandchildren, Rachel (Shaun) Paluch, Benjamin (Cherry) Stark, Anika and Karen Stark; her four great-grandchildren, Kendra and Caleb Paluch, and Emmanuel and Sofia Stark; three sisters, Elaine Stark, Margaret (Alan) Schubring and Darlene Graf; a brother, Orville (Eldonna) Degner; as well as other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Lynn; a sister, Marion Degner; and a brother, Vernon Degner Sr.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Tuesday, June 29, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Beechwood Ave., Waukesha, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Braun officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
