Wendy S. Dalzell
Aug. 30, 1949 – Feb. 25, 2010
Wendy S. Dalzell (nee Kappel) of Waukesha peacefully passed away Feb. 25,
2010, at the age of 60. She lost her fight with lung cancer early Thursday
morning at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, surrounded by her children
and grandchildren.
Wendy was born Aug. 30, 1949. She was the precious daughter of Elmer
Kappel and Mildred Brach (nee Kelley).
Most of her life, Wendy devoted her time to raising her children, caring
for grandchildren and her parents. She also worked for many local
companies such as The Freeman and until last spring, she worked as a
custodian for the Waukesha Public Library.
Wendy’s warm and giving heart will be missed by all who knew her. Her
love for her family and her desire to keep them in her everyday life was
always most important to her. She was the glue that kept her large
extended family together.
She is survived by her son, James (J.D.) Johnson, and daughter, Kellie
(Barry) Ernst, both of Waukesha. She is also survived by her brother,
Dennis (Carol) Kappel of Tennessee. She is further survived by her
beautiful grandchildren, Dakota, Sara, Kaitlin, Amber, Autumn, Brandon,
Bradley, Ashley and Brady. She is also survived by numerous nephews,
nieces, brothersin-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, an aunt and many dear
friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brother Wayne Kappel,
sister Virginia Schulz, grandson Barry Ernst Jr. and Nephew Danny Kappel.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the 6 p.m. funeral service Saturday,
March 6 at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Road, four blocks
south of Interstate 94 at Highways J and JJ, Waukesha.
