Raymond Albert Carl Dorn of Madison, formerly Oconomowoc, passed away Sunday March 7, 2010, at the age of 96. Raymond was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Hartland, to Henry and Ella (Rieve) Dorn. Ray was the first of seven children.
Raymond married Violet Kuphall on May 21, 1938. Violet preceded him in death along with his granddaughter, Christine Rae Linehan, and daughter-inlaw, Jean Mueller. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Howard and Duane; and sister, Elaine; brothers-in-law, Arnold Kosanke, Arthur Henschel, Herbert Krueger, Frederick Kuphall and Marvin Becker; and sisters-in-law, Jean Dorn, Lily Krueger, Dela Becker, Harriet Kuphall, Betty Kuphall, Angeline Kuphall and Florence Oesterich.

Raymond is survived by his children, Fay Linehan, Karen (David) Radke and David (Kathy) Dorn; grandchildren, Cheri Linehan, Kim Italiano, Kathy (Dale) Twardokus, Keith (Tammy) Radke, Kelly (Jeff) Smith, Ken (Rebecca) Radke, Jason (Kelly) Dorn and Jennifer Dorn; and great-grandchildren, Rachel and Nicole Italiano, Karoline, Kevin and Kaitlin Twardokus, Kyle, Sean, Andrew and Ean Radke, Megan, Joshua and Nathan Langhoff, Jacob and Conner Smith, Garrett Owens and Julia and Lucas Radke. Raymond is also survived by his sisters, Irene Kosanke and Doris Henschell; and sisterin-law, Myrtle Dorn.

Raymond loved life and all the beauty of God’s creation. He took time to savor the intricacies of a flower, the majesty of a sunrise or sunset, the strength of a tree. Even into his 90s, he amazed people with the clearness of his mind and strength of his will. His passion was his family and his love of Jesus. He is now home.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Glenview Memorial Gardens, W1219 Glenview Ave., Ixonia.
