Barbara Jean Franta (nee Evans)
Oct. 3, 1956 – March 10, 2010
Barbara Jean Franta (nee Evans) of Waukesha passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 53. She was born in Milwaukee on Oct. 3, 1956, a daughter of John William and Navada Leota (Laubscher) Evans.
Barbara graduated from Waukesha High School in 1974 and was married to Charles “Chuck” Franta on May 15, 1999. For years, she was a volunteer for Waukesha County Human Services. She was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and was involved with an MS support group. The best words to describe Barb would be loving and giving. She gave with her unending upbeat spirit, her caring for family and friends and her love for her savior, Jesus Christ. Even in death, Barb chose to be an organ donor. No greater gift can a man give than to lay down his life for another.
Barb is survived by her husband, Charles; her mother, Navada Evans; her sisters, Judy (Tom) Pluck and Kathy (Jim) Yaresh; her nieces, Lisa (Chris) Bulin, Amy (Dave) Hartman, Sarah (Nate) Condella and Stacy (Jeff) Skarda; stepchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Evans.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. memorial service Saturday, March 13, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 S. East Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Peter Schmidt will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barb’s name are appreciated to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at the above address.
