Suzanne Elaine DeMond (nee Poole)
Feb. 8, 1944 – March 14, 2010
Suzanne Elaine DeMond (nee Poole), 66, formerly of Beloit and Waukesha,
passed away at her Green Bay home under hospice and family care Sunday,
March 14, 2010, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Sue was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Beloit, the daughter
of Bernard and Audrey Reuteler Poole. She was a 1962 graduate of Beloit
Memorial High School and worked in Beloit for many years as a hairdresser
at Hazel’s Hairstyling and The Mane Stop. After moving to Waukesha in
1982, Sue worked at Cameo Hair Care Center, and then owned and operated
salons at San Camillo Retirement Community and Linden Heights Assisted
Living. Upon retiring in 2003, Sue and her husband moved to Green Bay to
be with their family.
Sue was an active member in The Peoples Church in
Beloit, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Waukesha and Union Congregational
Church in Green Bay. She served her communities as a hospice volunteer and
Sunday school teacher, and Sue enjoyed oil painting, horseback riding and
spending time with her family. Sue enriched the lives of so many people
with her compassion, strength, generosity and wonderful sense of humor.
She is gratefully at peace in God’s loving arms, but she will be deeply
missed.
Survivors include her mother, Audrey (Poole)
Stanton; husband, Roland DeMond; son, Daniel Scott DeMond (Tamara Koponen);
daughter, Dianna DeMond; four grandchildren, Brian, Brendan, Dylan and
Joslyn; and stepsiblings, John D. Stanton (Marianne), Pat Ruppert (Kevin)
and children, Roderick Stanton (Melody) and son, and Chad Stanton (Ellen)
and children.
She was predeceased by her father, Bernard Poole;
and grandparents, Theron and Julia Poole, and Max and Lenora Reuteler.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday, March 21, at Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and
Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit. Funeral services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Monday, March 22, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr.
Charles E. Mize, senior pastor of Union Congregational Church in Green
Bay, officiating. Internment will be immediately following at East Lawn
Cemetery, 2200 E. Milwaukee Road, Beloit.

donations to entities that have helped and supported Sue throughout her
illness.
