Ethel Emily Tans (nee Vick)
Oct. 26, 1916 – March 16, 2010
Ethel Emily Tans (nee Vick), 93, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday,
March 16, 2010, at Liberty Retirement Community. She was born Oct. 26,
1916, in Waukesha, to the late Fred and Emma (Brown) Vick.
Ethel resided in Waukesha most of her life. She was a homemaker and was
employed as head cook for Waukesha schools. She moved to Middletown in
2000 and lived at the Rittenhouse Assisted Living and the Liberty
Retirement Community of Middletown.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Middletown.
She was preceded her in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Tans; one
son, Wayne Tans; and her twin sister, Edith Vick.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Ralph Connor of
Middletown; three granddaughters, Lori (Greg) Cole of Findlay, Ohio, Amy
(Tom) Nelson of New Palestine, Ind., and Keri (Dave) Sennett of West
Chester, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren, Holly, Jenni, Cole, Jeff, Ashley,
Jon, Jeffrey, Julie, Daniel, Katie and T.J.; and one great-great grandson,
Brayden.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service
Saturday, March 20, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4715 Holly Ave.,
Middletown, with the Rev. Daniel Herb officiating. Interment will be at
Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha.
