Darlene A. McGavock of Gillett, formerly of the town of Summit, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her home at the age of 67. She was born in Waukesha on Aug. 15, 1942, the daughter of William and Almira (nee Niemuth) Draves.

She was a 1960 graduate of Waukesha High School. On Oct. 8, 1960, she married Hugh McGavock. She had been a longtime employee of Pick ’n Save on Silvernail Drive. Following retirement, they moved up north to their lake home. Darlene was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and loved all of her grandchildren dearly.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Hugh of Gillett; along with their children, Patrick (Ann) McGavock of Oconomowoc, Barb (Juan Yepez) McGavock of New Berlin, Chris (late Jason) Flaugher of Watertown, Tom McGavock of Waukesha, Terry (Scott) Friedrich of Sussex and Timothy (Lynn Charlevoix) McGavock of Herman. She was the loving grandmother of Samantha, Shannon, Tyler, Amanda, Keeley, Ashley and Kelly. She is further survived by her brothers, Herb (Darlene) Draves of Adams, Larry "Chico" Draves of Wales and Albert (late Anne) Draves of Waukesha; sister, Alice (Tom) McBride of Genesee; brother-in-law, Dave Nason of Tomahawk; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ted Allen McGavock; sister, Corrine Nason; brother, Bob Draves; as well as her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral service Friday May 7, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at the village of Pewaukee cemetery. Please meet at the cemetery.
