Ida C. Jamison
May 4, 1905 – April 30, 2010
Ida C. Jamison (nee Hough), 104, passed away in
Milwaukee on Friday, April 30, 2010.
She was the wife of the late Frank N. Jamison, who
died in 1999. They were married 67 years. She was a resident of Creamery,
Pa., from 1934 to 1995 when she moved to the Peter Becker Community. After
her husband’s passing, Ida moved to Wisconsin to be near family. She
lived at Kirkland Crossings Senior Center for more than six years and then
spent most of the last three years living with her daughter, Shirley.
Ida was born May 4, 1905, in Gardner, Mass., the
daughter of the late Wyman C. and Edna (nee Smith) Hough. She was a 1924
graduate of West Haven (CT) High School and a 1926 graduate of North Haven
State Normal School, now Southern Connecticut State University. Ida taught
elementary school in Connecticut before she moved to Pennsylvania, where
she got married and raised a family.
Ida was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church
of Harleysville, Pa.
She was an avid Scrabble player and enjoyed
writing, painting, reading and baking.
She is survived by her four children, Bruce N.
(Brenda) Jamison of Norwich, N.Y., Shirley A. (Arlen) Delp of New Berlin,
Thelma M. Jamison of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Raymond L. (Anne) Jamison
of Phoenixville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four
great great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in
death by her sister, Ruby L. Sisson.
Services and interment will be held in eastern
Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 8, near where she spent most of her adult
life.
