Marion A. Beard of Waukesha died Monday, May 3, 2010, at Muskego Health Care Center at the age of 86. She was born April 16, 1924, in Waukesha, the daughter of Otto and Emma (Steffen) Hoppe.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Marion was a teacher at St. Anne’s High School in Illinois. On Dec. 28, 1963, she was united in marriage to Paul G. Beard at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Marion was a lifelong member of Trinity, where she was very active over the years. She was also an avid Packers fan.

Marion will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul of Waukesha; her son, Paul H. Beard of Waukesha; sisters, Mardel (Wayne) Gustafson of Waukesha and Lola Mae (Darrel) Weinrich of Greendale; brothers, Delbert and Herbert Hoppe of Waukesha; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Visitation continues from 10 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service Friday, May 7, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1052 Whiterock Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. Scott Oelhafen will preside. Burial will immediately follow the service at Prairie Home Cemetery.
