Roger M. Bauer of Waukesha died peacefully at home Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the age of 64. He was born Sept. 25, 1945, in Shawano, the son of Merle and Dorothy (Hoefs) Bauer.
Roger grew up in Tigerton and graduated from Tigerton High School in 1963. He was an avid watch collector with a natural curiosity and an irreplaceable knowledge of people and places. His love for new experiences went beyond Wisconsinís borders as he enjoyed traveling throughout the country and even as far away as Japan. He worked for the Milwaukee Road Railroad and as a car salesman for many years before retiring from Hartlandís Minco in 2008.
Roger will be sadly missed by his children, Carlton Bauer of Grovetown, Ga., and Christine Ann (Tom) Van Wagenen of Federal Way, Wash.; his grandchildren, Ann and David Bauer; his sisters, Maxine (George) Ehlert of Fond du Lac and Sandra (Gerald) Rowe of Janesville; his dear friend, Christina Rill of Milwaukee; and other relatives and countless friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna and Carol.
A memorial gathering for friends and family of Roger will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Christinaís Family Restaurant, 350 Delafield St., Waukesha, WI 53188-3641.
