Marion J. LaPorte
Feb. 23, 1921 – May 11, 2010
Marion J. LaPorte of Waukesha died Tuesday, May 11,
2010, at Ruth Hospice at the age of 89. She was born on Feb. 23, 1921, the
daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Meyer) Gengl. Marion was a member of St.
Joseph Catholic Church and the Woman’s Knights of Columbus. She and her
husband were owners of LaPorte’s Tap in Milwaukee and, after they sold
their business, they moved to Waukesha. Marion also worked for the
Waukesha school system. Marion loved her family and lived her life for
them.
She will be sadly missed by her loving husband,
Joseph, whom she married Dec. 27, 1941. Mr. LaPorte was the former mayor
of Waukesha, a city alderman and served as a county board supervisor. Also
surviving are her daughters, Virginia "Ginger" (Bill) Warga and
Kathleen "Kathy" (Bob) Hoffmeier; her grandchildren, Jodie
(Thomas) Stekiel, M.D., William Warga III, and Brian and Joseph Hoffmeier;
and her great grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew Stekiel. She is further
survived by many friends and other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30
p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home,
237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. The funeral Mass for Marion will be held
at 10 a.m. Friday, May 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N. East
Ave., Waukesha. The Rev. William Key will officiate. Burial will
immediately follow the funeral Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee.
