Helen M. Stapleton, 88, of Green Bay, formerly of Waukesha, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2010.

She was born Aug. 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agatha Stute. Helen (My Girl, Eagle, WI) married Eugene Stapleton on June 28, 1947. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waukesha and a longtime, retired employee of 1st Federal Bank. Helen enjoyed the times she spent with her sisters canning fruits and vegetables and a wonderful trip to Hawaii with her husband. She also loved cooking, baking, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren.

Helen will be sadly missed by her children, Patricia Oaklief, John (Georgia) Stapleton, Mike (Meg) Stapleton, Denny (Sandy) Stapleton and Jerry (Laura) Stapleton; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Helen is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, in 2008; and her brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, May 27, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 136 Waukesha Road, Eagle, with the Rev. Bob Gosma officiating. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery.
