Eleanor L. Hackett
April 6, 1925 – May 21, 2010
Eleanor L. Hackett, 85, of Black River Falls and formerly of the town of
Genesee and Hatfield, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Black River Memorial
Hospital under the care of Black River Memorial Hospice.
Eleanor Lucille McNett was born April 6, 1925, in Waukesha, to Lloyd and
Mayme (Kohlhaas) McNett. She was raised in the town of Genesee. She was
employed by the Amron Corporation of Waukesha for 30 years.
She married Gordon E. Hackett on March 12, 1945, in Waukesha. She moved to
Wisconsin Rapids in 2003 and to Hatfield in 2009. Most recently, she had
been a resident of the Pine View Terrace of Black River Falls.
Eleanor was an avid reader. She also enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda LaPorte of Hatfield; a granddaughter,
Lisa (Chad) Gilbertson of Wisconsin Rapids; great-grandchildren, Tyler
Hackett, Marcie Gilbertson and Kennedy Gilbertson; two sisters, Jean
(Gilbert) Burmeister of Loganville and Hazel (Charles) Samuels of Sussex;
and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon E. Hackett;
and a son, Dean G. Hackett.
In accordance with Eleanor’s wishes, there will be no visitation or
