Emily C. O’Neill (nee Proffit) of Pewaukee passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years with her family at her side Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010.

She was preceded by her husband of 58 years, Donald.

She was the loving mother of Donald (Lynne) O’Neill, Robert (Nancy) O’Neill and Barbara (Robert) Gulbrandsen; dear grandmother of Robert (Julie) O’Neill, Michael (Diane) O’Neill, William O’Neill, Eric (Tara) Gulbrandsen, Jeffery (Becky) Gulbrandsen and Ryan Courtney; proud greatgrandmother of Michael Jr., Samuel, Tristin, Kayla, Mason, Kaitlin and Liam; fond sister of Fred (Janet) Proffit; and sister-in-law of Helen Proffit. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marion (Nee Evert) Proffit; sister, Virginia; and brothers, John and William.

Emily was a registered nurse working at Milwaukee County Hospital, which was predecessor to Froedtert Hospital, and was director of nursing at River Hills Nursing Home for many years.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Friday, Nov. 12, at Yonke & Son Funeral Home, 205 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee. The Rev. Lonnie Richardson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Pewaukee.
