Della Pearl Popp

Jan. 28, 1917 – Nov. 10, 2010

Della Pearl Popp, 93, of Oconomowoc, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. Della was born Jan. 28, 1917, to August Theodore and Martha Louise (nee Belzer) Bose. When she was 3, her mother died, and Della was raised by her uncle and aunt, Charles and Augusta Bose, whom she considered her parents. She was the youngest of 10 children, nine who preceded her in death, making her the “matriarch” of the Bose clan.

Della spent several years as a cook at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Chuck’s Supper Club. Over the years, she delighted in the many activities of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the friendship of many and her devotion to family and friends will be forever missed.

Della was a loving mother to Gwendolyn Stanich, Maynard (Glenda) Popp, Carol (Paul) Jushka, Donald (Jean) Popp, David (Tami) Popp, Warren (Paula) Popp and Diane (Howard) Gasper; cherished grandmother of Darren (Pam) Popp, Tonia (Chris) Lamkin, Chris (Andrea) Jushka, Jeff (Amanda) Jushka, Lisa (Brian) Witcher, Jassen (Monika) Popp, Michele Popp, Derek (Christie) Theisen, Katie Braunschwieg, Kyle Braunschwieg, Chelsea Gasper, Christa (Ed) Whitney, John (Bonnie) Holby, Darlene Jensen, Tina (David) Staat and Todd Stanich; caring great-grandmother of Courtney Popp, Brian Popp, Lydia Lamkin, Annabella Lamkin, Ryan Jushka, Logan Jushka, Lucas Jushka, Lauren Streets, Kara Witcher, Kaylie Witcher, Soren Larson, Emma Theisen, Ray Theisen, Dayton Braunschwieg, Gavin Smith, Bill Whitney, Rebecca Whitney, Mark Whitney, Steven Jensen, Angala Jensen and Alana Holby; and proud great-great-grandmother of Lauren Whitney, Caitlyn Whitney and Alyssa Whitney. Della is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Della was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Leroy Popp Sr.; sons, Richard Alvin Popp and Peter Edward Popp; grandsons, Michael Arthur Popp and Steven Stanich; and granddaughter, Jan Holby.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the noon funeral service Thursday, Nov. 18, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Okauchee. Burial will follow the service at LaBelle Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend deep appreciation to the staff of Care Age of Brookfield for their loving and kind care for the past four months. Thanks also to Allay Home and Hospice, and the Rev. Jonathan Madson and the Guild of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Okauchee.
