Clarence H. Schuett

Feb. 19, 1918 – Nov. 19, 2010

Clarence Harold Schuett, 92, of Watertown, formerly of Ashippun, passed away Friday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Clarence was born Feb. 19, 1918, in the Town of Rubicon, the son of Robert and Bertha (Buetow) Schuett. On June 8, 1940, he married Esther Zuleger at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun. Clarence had been employed at Carnation Can Company in Oconomowoc for 45 years. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church and had served on the church council. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO Union Local 1564 since 1937 and he had participated in its organization. Clarence took part in organizing Carnation Credit Union, which was officially chartered in 1952 and is known today as Landmark Credit Union. Clarence enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Esther of Watertown; a son, Robert (Carole) Schuett of Oconomowoc; two daughters, Elaine (Dallas) Grosenick of Watertown and Kathryn (Randy) Moldenhauer of Watertown; 10 grandchildren, Daniel (Penny) Schuett, Annette Schuett, Michael Grosenick, Mark (Dana) Grosenick, Brian (Carrie) Grosenick, Angela Moldenhauer, Tami (Steven) Campbell, Jeffrey Moldenhauer, Heather (Karl) Haines and Heidi (Dennis) Westfall; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Clarence was the last member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Meta Schuett, Leona (Herman) Goecks and Hilda Schuett; and a brother, Leonard Schuett.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashippun with the Rev. Bob Thays officiating. Burial will be in Ashippun Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
