Lindsay Jean ‘Lindz’ Lopez

Sept. 25, 1978 – Nov. 22, 2010

Lindsay Jean ‘Lindz’ Lopez (nee Wenzel) was born Sept. 25, 1978, and went home to heaven Monday, Nov. 22, 2010.

Lindsay waged a 14-month battle against leukemia with the strength of a warrior. Always with a positive attitude and belief that she would be a survivor. As she faced every treatment, including a bone marrow transplant in June 2010, she did whatever was asked of her. Even after facing a relapse of the leukemia in October, she never lost her positive attitude.

She was the loving wife of Jason Lopez; mother of Olivia Jasmine Lopez; daughter of Karen and Eugene Wenzel; daughter-inlaw of Stella and Domingo Lopez; granddaughter of Dorothy (the late Gene) Wenzel and Lilly (the late Earling) Hagstrand; in-law granddaughter of Nena and Al Salazar and Domingo and Corina Lopez; sister-in-law of Jessica (Chris Munz) Lopez; niece of Barbara (Michael) Berg, Kristine Carlson and Ruth (Roger) Davis; and cousin of Megan (Todd Zimmerman) Berg, Bryon (Amanda) Berg, Logan Carlson, Stephanie (Ty Robinson) Carlson, Leslie Carlson, Keller Davis, Barton and Shannon Davis. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service Saturday, Nov. 27, at Advantage Funeral Home, 11030 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners.

Abundant thanks to all her family, many friends, coworkers, nurses and doctors who have been assisting her with prayers and support through the many months. Thank you to the staff of Froedtert-Medical College Transplant Team and CIBMTR, Oncology nurses and doctors at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Be the Match and the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lindsay Lopez Leukemia Fund (for Olivia Lopez’s education) would be appreciated.

Advantage Funeral Home, 414-425-6060, is serving the family.
