Nellie H. Woelfle of Waukesha, formerly of New York and Worcester, Mass., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Virginia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waukesha at the age of 97. Nellie was born in Worcester on June 11, 1913, a daughter of Frank and Esther Varaska.

In her later years she loved to travel and was able to enjoy a helicopter ride to the top of a glacier in Alaska and a visit Hawaii, among other destinations. Nellie especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Nellie will be dearly missed by her son, Walter (Mary Ann) Woelfle, and grandchildren, Lara (fiancé Paul Evans) Woelfle and Joseph (Claire) Woelfle.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents; and a sister, Mary.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. Anthony on the Lake Catholic Church, W280-N2101 Prospect Ave., Pewaukee, WI 53072. Burial will be held at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, Masses in Nellie’s name or memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.
