Robert A. Meyer of Pewaukee quietly passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010,
with the family he loved so much at his side. He was born Aug. 28, 1925,
on a farm in the Town of Mayville.
In 1944, Bob married the woman he loved, Winifred
(nee Mercer). She preceded him in death in 2004.
Bob will be sadly missed by his children, Robert
(Elizabeth), Ronald, Janet Schneidewent (Alan) and David. He was greatly
loved by his grandchildren, Jennifer Duessler (Nathen), Cynthia (Mizan),
Robert (Sarah), Kenneth (Simone), Richard (Carrie), Nathan (Ann), Corey
(Aimee) and Sarah Price, and his beautiful great-grandchildren, Nadine,

Hinzey.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Leichtweis; brother, Marvin; and his parents, Albert and Minnie (nee

Bob served bravely as part of the greatest
generation in World War II in England, France and Austria. For his heroic
efforts, Bob received the Bronze Star. He and Winnie moved to Pewaukee in
1948. He learned the electrical trade from his brother-in-law and started
a successful business, Pewaukee Electric Co. Many people used the
"big clock" on his garage to see if they were late or not. Bob
continued to serve his community in the U.S. Army Reserve (retired as a SFC), as a justice of the peace and as a member of the volunteer fire
department, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant. He went on to become
the head of the Pewaukee Water Department and an electrical inspector for
the Town of Pewaukee. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and
American Legion chapters in Pewaukee. After Bob retired, he continued to
serve the community as a volunteer for the food pantry, delivering Meals
on Wheels and calling bingo at River Hills West Nursing Home. He assisted
his children and grandchildren with many household projects. Bob was an
avid gardener, even up to the day he left this earth.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the 6
