Clara F. Rukas
Clara
F. Rukas (nee Warrington) joined her beloved husband, Charles H. Rukas in
heaven Aug. 23, 2010, at age 90. Clara died peacefully surrounded by
family.
Born in Nashua, N.H., Clara lived in various locations during her
lifetime. She resided in Sugar Land, Texas, near her daughter, at the time
of her death.
She was the beloved mother of Chuck Rukas of Mount Vernon, Ore., Maureen
Rogers of Sugar Land, Sharon (Jay) Ferstenfeld of Brookfield, Mary Beth
(Robert) Hicks of Arbutus, Md., Patricia (Art) Anderson of Norwich,
England, and Sheila (William) Breeden of Norfolk, Va.; loving grandmother
of 11 and proud great-grandmother ("GG") of 16 (soon to be 18);
and dear sister of Paul (Claire) Warrington of Merrimack, N.H. She is
further survived by other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mary Warrington;
three brothers; and two sisters.
Clara proudly served as a nurse in World War II in the Army Air Force,
where she met and married her husband, Charles, of 42 years. She retired
with the rank of second lieutenant. Clara lived in the Waukesha/Brookfield
area for 30 years, continuing her nursing career at Waukesha Memorial
Hospital until her retirement.
Clara was a devoted, always cheerful and loving mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by her family and all whose
lives she touched.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian
burial Friday, Oct. 8, at St. John Vianney Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Road,
Brookfield. Interment will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park following
the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Clara’s name to a
charity of your choice.
