WAUKESHA
Raymond J. Schmidt
June 30, 1933 – Oct. 4, 2010
Raymond J. Schmidt of Waukesha passed away
in the early morning hours of Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Waukesha Memorial
Hospital at the age of 77 years.
He was born in Waukesha on June 30, 1933, a son of the late William R. and
Elizabeth (Hoffart) Schmidt. He attended local schools and was a lifetime
resident of the Sussex and Waukesha areas. Raymond was married to Jean (Dion)
on July 15, 1961, and together they raised three sons. He was employed as
a toolmaker for Waukesha Dresser and Tower Automotive and was a
communicant of St. William Catholic Church. In his lifetime, Ray was
generous to a fault. He gave regularly to numerous charities and was also
a member of the NRA. He enjoyed visiting family in Arizona, but was never
interested in leaving his hometown long-term. His greatest joy was time
spent with his family. Ray will be sadly missed.
Raymond is survived by his sons, Tony (Stacie) Schmidt of Queens Creek,
Ariz., Paul (Lisa) Schmidt of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Gregg (Kimberly)
Schmidt of Waukesha. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren,
Lauren, Andrea and Bronwyn; his sisters in-law, Violet and Ethel Boppre;
and other relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Jean; his
brothers, Joe, Bill, Herb and Ed; and sisters, Irene Schneider and Mabel
Wolf.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Cesarz,
