Marvin Emil Viegut, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at home. Marvin was born Sept. 6, 1924, the son of Emil and Marjorie (Davison) Viegut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Rita, Georgette and Donna; and his first wife, Lorraine Anne Viegut.
He was a longtime resident of Waukesha. After retiring in 1986, he moved to Townsend and later moved to Mesa. Marvin was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an Eucharistic minister at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa.
Marvin will be sadly missed by his wife, Ann Chaledyn Viegut of Mesa; son, John (Linda) Viegut of Eagle; daughters, Mary (David) Scarce of Waukesha, Dorothy (Larry) Hanson of Sussex and Dawn (Art) Mueller of Watertown, Minn.; stepsons, Michael (Mary) Powell of Arizona and Charles (Lois) Powell of Washington; eight sisters, Virjean (Arnold) Schmidt of Sussex, Jackie (Richard) Gloudemans of Little Chute, Joan (Harold) Milton of Green Bay, Carol (Donald) Billman of California, Lolita (Willmer) Bierstedt of St. Francis, Marjorie (Donald) Strabel of Sheboygan Falls, Janet (Robert) Peterson of Oshkosh and Arlyce (Robert) Bliefirnicht of Deforest; and three brothers, Allen (Wendy) of Green Bay, Darrell (Bernice) of Colorado and Gerald (Rosemary) Viegut of Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 15232 County F, Lakewood, at 11 a.m. Oct. 16. A prayer service will begin at 10 a.m. with the rosary. The Rev. David Schmidt will officiate the service.
